Veenu Aishwarya is an innovator and a result-oriented biotechnology entrepreneur. He received his biomedical research training while working as a visiting scholar at the prestigious Perelman School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania. He also briefly worked at Temple University, Philadelphia.
At AUM LifeTech, Veenu has been strategizing revolutionary concepts to develop innovative genomics products with applications in nucleic acids therapeutics for various diseases. He also focuses on the applications of next generation nucleic acids platforms to facilitate discoveries and innovations in biomedical research and clinical diagnostics. On the agriculture side, Veenu is also leading an effort to make food sustainable by developing of next generation RNA silencing products for pest management and plant disease control.
In 2017, Veenu was recognized as Millennials to Watch in Life Sciences by the Philadelphia Business Journal. Most recently, Veenu was recognized as 2018 Health Care Innovator by the Philadelphia Business Journal.
Veenu serves on the editorial board of Molecular Therapy – Nucleic Acids (Nature Publishing Group). He is a nominated member of the RNAi Therapeutics Committee of the American Society of Gene and Cell Therapy and the Scientific Advisory Council of the Oligonucleotide Therapeutics Society. He is also a member of The American Association of Cancer Research, The American Society of Gene and Cell Therapy, The American Association for the Advancement of Science, The New York Academy of Sciences, and The International Society of Nucleosides, Nucleotides and Nucleic Acids. He was also selected for a young scientist award program by the Keystone Symposia. He has authored several research articles and invited book chapters in publications like BMC, Oxford, Elsevier and Springer. He serves a referee/reviewer at journals like – Journal of Molecular Biology (Elsevier), Oncogene (Nature Publishing Group), BMC Genomics, Molecular Therapy – Nucleic Acids (Nature Publishing Group) and Journal of Biomedical Research. Veenu has been invited, on several occasions, to write on leadership and entrepreneurship by Fortune Magazine.
Veenu has also been a Milken Institute Assocaite. Mr. Mahesh Chand served in several executive admistrative capacities for the Government of Uttar Pradesh, India for more than 33 years and retired from the Indian Administrative Services in 2012. Mr. Chand brings an extensive executive management experience and an unprecedented interdisciplinary support to AUM LifeTech.
Prior to joining AUM LifeTech, Mr. Chand has served in various administrative postions including strategy planning, management and public administration with the Government of Uttar Pradesh in India. He has worn several executive management caps during his time in various district units and the state capital Lucknow. Mr. Chand served as a Special Secretary to the government of Uttar Pradesh with several government agencies and directly handled the financial affairs. During his tenure, Mr. Chand settled hundreds of human resource and establishment related matters and was instrumental in the incorporation of administrative governance for key government agencies. He has successfully headed several multi-million dollar deals on negotiations, land acquisition and compensation within government and private organizations.
Further, during his time at Meerut district, Mr. Chand headed the Municipal Corporation of Meerut as the Municipal Commissioner where he chaired, supervised and administered a work force catering to the civic needs of 1.5 million residents. He also served as the Vice-Chairman of Bulandshahr-Khurja Development Authority and lead the enforcement and regulation of city’s master plan for over 4 years. As an executive in these development authorities, he conceptualized and executed several residential and commercial schemes, including land acquisition, financing and construction of properties.
While serving as the Chief Development Officer and Additional District Magistrate of Meerut District he administered the development of the district with 3.5 million residents. During this time, Mr. Chand oversaw the development of district plans, devised and executed administrative strategies for city’s urban and rural development, conducted Parliamentary & Assembly elections, Municipal elections, administered/settled law and civil order matters and passed judgments on several revenue court cases while working in Revenue Courts. He has also worked as Additional Commissioner of State Election Commission – a constitutional body responsible for conducting elections to the Municipal Bodies for Mayors and members of civic bodies as well as that of Rural Areas.
Mr. Chand has been instrumental in making, implementation and execution of several government laws and policies within his jurisdictions while serving on these executive administrative positions within the State Government of Uttar Pradesh, India.
